Introduction
When I found this recipe on the internet at by "Paging Mum Fun", we had to try it. It sounded too good to be true. Slime without glue, starch or Borax? After a few trials we managed to get the right texture.
Things needed
- 150ml Water
- 1,5 TL Psyllium husks
- optional: Food coloring or glitter
Steps
Pour water with two drops of food colouring in a pot.
Add psyllium husks and boil them on low temperature for about 5 minutes while stirring until it turns to be a chewy slime.
Cool it down - and get started! You can store the slime in the fridge for about 1-2 weeks and can therefore be reused.
The ratio of psyllium husks to water depends on how slimy the slime gets and if it sticks on the hand. The ratio described above is pretty chewy, but it doesn't stick on the hands. When you use more water the slime will be more watery, but it then sticks more on the hands. Depending on the child and preferences you should experiment a little bit with it.
You can buy Psyllium husks in a health food shop or chemists.
