Triangles, squares and rhombi in all the colours of the rainbow invite to make ever new patterns and figures and to experiment with symmetry, colours and geometry.

Introduction
The Spielgaben, the cornerstone of the Fröbel pedagogy, have always fascinated me. An article from the blog "Epic Childhood" inspired me to make a little version of 'Spielgaben' myself.

Things needed
- wooden cubes
- wooden shapes
- Spots, rings and rods
- Glitzersteine
- wooden beads
- Food coloring
- Homemade beeswax polish oder babysafe varnish
- Brush, small bowl and paper towel

Steps
Dye the wood parts with food colouring as you wish or in the basic Fröbel colours (yellow, orange, red, purple, blue, green) and let it dry thoroughly.
Rub with beeswax polish or baby proof varnish.

The DIY - 'Spielgaben' are made for endless hours of play, experimentation and experiencing. They are perfect to combine and expand with many of our play ideas. For example the mirror corner, the light table or as sorting material for our different trays.
